Brides are always asking us about sample sizes in the boutique. Most bridal shops will have sample dresses for you to try on and when you find the one, a dress will be ordered in especially for you. Sample dresses in bridal shops really do vary and you should always research before you visit. Some bridal shops tend to have lots of small sizes, others may cater specifically for plus size and many bridal shops have a range of sizes. It will help if you know this before you visit.
Bridal shops have to buy their sample dresses and this is why you’ll find there’s generally only one of each style. Don’t forget, we do this for a living, we have lots of tips and tricks to make the dresses look like they fit you, even if our sample isn’t your size.
You may buy “off the peg” at some bridal shops, which means you’ll try the dress on that you would actually buy. If you are buying a dress off the peg, it’s worth knowing that most dresses can be taken down by at least two dress sizes by an experienced bridal seamstress.
It really does pay to do your research with the bridal boutique that you plan to visit. Get in touch with them and find out everything you need to know. Planning your wedding is one of the most exciting times of your life and we’re here to help if you have any questions.
We hope you have found this useful. Don’t hesitate to find us on social media and pop over any questions you may have.
