We woke up at 3am on Easter Sunday 2023 to climb Mount Snowdon to watch the sunrise. The weather was cold but the skies were really clear so it was perfect for watching the sunrise! However, this meant that a lot of other people had the same idea and it was very busy at the summit. After watching the sunrise, we began our descent and at a beautiful, private spot, Matt asked me to marry him.

How did you feel on your big day?

Completely elated. It was the best day of my life.

What’s your special memory of your wedding day?

The whole day was a special memory so it is genuinely difficult to select one. After we had actually gotten married and said hello to all of our guests, our photographer almost insisted that we went and had some time, just the two of us. We spent five minutes sat together chatting about the fact that we were now officially husband and wife, and how wonderful the day had been so far. I’m so glad that we had that little pocket of time together to appreciate and enjoy our day, just as us.

Tell us about your Dress Me Pretty experience

The experience was flawless. Jade looked after me the entire time and made it completely stress free. I pre-selected three dresses from the website which were ready for me to try on straight away. I was then able to browse the shop and select any other dresses I wanted to try on. I felt a little overwhelmed doing this but Jade was right there to gently guide and offer suggestions, without being overbearing. The shop itself was beautiful and had a lovely atmosphere. My dress ended up being the first one I tried on; I originally tried it on in a nude colour and Jade advised that it could come in ivory, though they didn’t have that option on the day. Jade added an ivory slip to the dress so I could visualise how it would look in that colour and that’s when I knew it was the one.

What’s your advice to future bride-to-be’s

Don’t overthink it. I’ve seen friends and family get so wrapped up with the tiniest details that don’t matter in the end. Planning your wedding is meant to be fun, don’t stress over the small things, or the big things. It will all be okay and will be the best day of your life. Also, invest in a good, quality photographer. Once your wedding day is over, you want beautiful photos to reminisce and to have captured all the work you put into your day.
