The Heart Behind Dress Me Pretty

Back in 2011, I started this dream from our family home with two young children, no money in my bank, and a £1,000 loan from my mum (thank you, Mum).

With a big dream and a willingness to graft, learn, and keep learning, I built something bigger than I ever imagined.

Along the way, I rented two shops and outgrew both of them due to the demand from brides wanting appointments. That is something I will never, ever take for granted.

Year after year, Dress Me Pretty has continued to thrive, and my love for helping brides only grows stronger.

I’ve been supported by the most incredible people along the way, especially my husband, who is now officially a shop-renovation expert (and very much my hero).

Work can often take over, and my family sometimes lose me to my phone. I'm still heavily involved in our social media and personally reply to every bride, because staying connected truly means everything to me.

As a mum myself, now to my own 21-year-old, I completely understand that as a parent you just want the very best for your girl. That understanding sits at the heart of everything we do at Dress Me Pretty - creating an experience that feels safe, supportive and truly special.

Bringing brides the very best has always been my promise, and the DMP team share that same passion. That’s our magic.

I don’t pause often enough to celebrate the journey, so I wanted to log it right here - for you to read our back story and understand the heart behind the business.

If you’re reading this as a bride, a bride’s mum, or anyone in between, welcome. I promise that giving you the very best means everything to me.

When I opened my first shop all those years ago, I was asked, “What if it doesn’t work?”

I was so determined to make a difference that it never crossed my mind.

If you can dream it, you can do it.

(Photo above was taken on the very first day of opening the shop I bought — and which became the forever home of Dress Me Pretty.)

Here at Dress Me Pretty getting the right team members is our priority. We aren’t recruiting right now but if you love helping and supporting others, are not afraid of working hard to get great results then we would love to hear from you. You will need to be ‘a people person’ as the majority of our work is about being kind to others and always going above and beyond. If any vacancies arise, it would be great to have your details.
