Tell us about your proposal
On 1st October 2022 — four years to the day we met — Ryan took me back to the restaurant where we had our first “official-ish” photo and celebrated our first anniversary after surviving lockdown together.
We had an incredible meal, and poor Ryan was secretly trying to pass the ring to the waitress while I stubbornly refused to go to the loo! Earlier that day I’d been thinking what a cheeky buggar he was — I’d given him a card and presents, while I got nothing in return… or so I thought!
He handed me a beautiful card filled with the most amazing words and memories, and just as I thought that was the big surprise, the waitress appeared with a dessert plate that read “Will you marry me”, the ring surrounded by rose petals and a huge bouquet of flowers beside it.
I was so shocked I couldn’t stop saying “OMG!” until I finally said yes — after what must have felt like forever for Ryan!
And to make it even funnier, that morning I’d had my nails done… jet black! Ryan must’ve been thinking, what on earth has she done?!
How did you feel on your big day?
Our wedding day was truly incredible from start to finish — there’s no feeling quite like having all the people you love together in one room. The morning was filled with laughter, Prosecco, and the best vibes as my beautiful bridesmaids got ready alongside me with our amazing hair stylist and makeup artist.
It’s hard to put into words what it feels like when the day you’ve planned for so long finally arrives — everything feels so surreal. Walking down the aisle, my heart was racing and I honestly thought I might throw up from the nerves… but the moment I turned the corner and saw Ryan’s face, everything else just melted away. It was pure magic.
The dance floor was packed all night long and the vibes were truly unmatched — everyone was laughing, dancing, and celebrating with so much love and energy. We honestly wish we could do it all over again. You really can’t put a price on spending an entire day surrounded by your family and best friends — it was the most perfect day. 🤍
What’s your special memory of your wedding day?
A moment I’ll never forget was sitting at our sweetheart table with Ryan, chatting about how incredible the day had been, and looking up to see all our family and friends laughing, smiling, and chatting together. Seeing everyone we love in one room, so happy and connected, was the most heart-warming feeling — there truly isn’t anything better.
Tell us about your Dress Me Pretty experience
About a year and a bit before our special day, my mum, mother-in-law, and I visited Dress Me Pretty for my bridal appointment. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed so warmly into the beautiful bridal room and treated to a glass of Prosecco as we admired the stunning selection of dresses.
The whole experience was incredible from start to finish — there was no pressure, no rush, just genuine care and excitement. The ladies were so kind and reassuring, especially when I started to doubt my choice. When it came time to collect my dress, it felt truly magical stepping out from behind the curtain — no clips, just the perfect fit. As soon as I put on the veil and looked in the mirror, I knew… there’s simply no feeling like it.
I couldn’t wait to show everyone my dress, especially since only three people had seen it before the big day! It was so special keeping that little secret. During the build-up to the wedding, the team stayed in touch and made sure everything was perfect — and even afterwards, their kindness continued. Dress Me Pretty really made the whole experience unforgettable.
What’s your advice to future bride-to-be’s
Don’t stress about every little detail — it’ll all come together just the way it should. Take a moment to enjoy the day and don’t worry about the small stuff. You’re the only one who knows every part of the plan, and your guests are just happy to be there celebrating with you. They won’t remember the menus or the napkin colours — just the food, the drinks, and the good times. That’s what really matters.
